As our work for the week was finished, the team took a trip to a local game park, Maasai Mara. It is a large park not far from Narok, where we have been working. We left the motel at 4:00 and arrived just before the 6:00 opening. We travelled in three vehicles over dusty roads. We had a blast.
This was an especially wonderful tour as the Great Migration was on. This annual migration of wildebeests and Zebra is huge. Two in my car grew up in Africa, one in Kenya the other in Ethiopia. They had never seen it and have always wanted to. Today we did.
We had several great surprises and some real treats. Below are a few of them. It was a great trip and well-deserved break for the medical side of the team. I couldn’t show it here because it is hard to read, but we also watch a leopard having lunch in a tree. I might try facebook.
