Week of Missions

After spending a whole week at home, most of it with a runny nose and cough which I still have, am on the road again. We are spending the week at one of our favorite places, WINEMA Christian Camp on the Oregon coast. This week is Week of Missions. There are 5 missionaries from around the world and a Bible lecturer who will share their ministries. We have been coming for many years, like 50 and for the last 30+ years we have not missed a week. Note: our family camp site is on the right in the trees. It has been so for most 50 years.

Most of those years, my sister and I ran the pre-school program, babies to kindergarten. We had a great time and have watch kids from our class go to the missions, become preachers, and bring their kids to camp. It was a great run. This year is different. We have retired and the baton has been passed. Some friends have taken the reins and we are excited about what they have planned for “our” kids.

This year we are attending all sessions, which will be something new. And we have a display we set up in the booth area. Some of our Kenya friends on it. And sometime this week we will have an afternoon presentation of As We Go Missions. We will be taking about our ministry and the work we have done in Zimbabwe and Kenya. We will also be talking about the future, including famine relief, church building, teaching, and whatever else God calls us to do. We are glad to be here.
