We are 2 1/2 weeks from departure, February 24 @ 7pm from SeaTac. We have a 12 hour flight to Istanbul connecting to Nairobi, Kenya landing there at 3am. We spend 27 hours layover there, this year we have a visa and motel reservation so not staying in the airport that whole time. We will meet our host for the Kenya part of our travels which takes place mid-April. And hopefully, we will see an old friend who lives in Nairobi as well. Then it is off to Harare with stops in Malawi and Zambia. The travel ends on the 27th.
Then the fun begins. The 27th will be a day of errands and recover from long flights. We then plan to head north to Chinhoyi to see our friends the Fortescues. Sunday, I preach at a new church for us, Banket. On Wednesday we south to Dine/Maranda and by the end of the first week of March we will arrive in Chiredzi.
As this point the rest of the schedule has yet to be made. There are teaching times, worship experiences, a trip to Mozambique for three days, teams to greet, materials for construction project to order, and friends to love on. It is a full journey to be sure.
I want to thank those who helped us get everything together. Without your love and support we would never be able to do what we are called to do. I will seek to do my best to keep everyone abreast of what is happening. We do have a couple of prayer requests.
Pray for the travel to Zimbabwe. There is always the possibility of issues with customs in the countries we are traveling through, given what we are bringing with us.
Pray for good health for Sherry and me, especially Sherry. To be laid up because of sickness or pain puts the schedule at risk and we don’t want that.
Pray for those who will be receiving the teaching we are presenting. The message is so very important to their maturing as Christians.
Pray for those we leave behind. Our family and friends as we are away from them.
