My last update ended with us preparing to head to Chiredzi where we will spend much of the rest of Zimbabwe time. We headed out on Wednesday and stopped at the college here to pick up the money westored in their safe while we went to Chinhoyi and Banket. It was late afternoon so, we spent the night and headed out the next morning for Chiredzi. The original plan was to go to Maranda, but we simply didn’t have things ready. That journey begins tomorrow, Monday.
As has been the case throughout, the travel was been uneventful. We did manage to stop at well known eating place in Gutu. You might recognize the logo. There is an In-n-Out Chicken, In-nzOut Butcher, In-n-Out grocery, and a liquor tap to boot. We are now in Chiredzi.
That was Thursday. Friday and Saturday we spent sorting duffel bags, recounting cash into envelops, get the car serviced, and gathering supplies. The situation moneywise here is different. Our regular store is quite expensive due to monetary policies. So, we are going to small shops and road side carts. Adds time but saves money.
Today was church and a birthday braai. That is two in two weeks. We have a couple of meetings tomorrow then it is on the road again. No electricity or internet where we are headed, so no update until Wednesday or Thursday.
