This is going to be a very busy week and a busy month for us. It starts this week (and has been for the last two, for that matter)It. Two unrelated events are taking place, one a camp and the other in the panhandle of Texas, Oklahoma, and southern Kansas.
First, the camp event. Sherry is directing, along with her friend, Debbie Rothrock, a women’s retreat at Pleasant Valley Christian Camp. The theme is “Molded.” It runs Friday through Sunday and is going to be a great time of worship, teaching, and community. If you haven’t signed up yet, there is still time. Just head over to pleasantvalleycamp.org to sign up. To be ready, Sherry and Bruce are headed up on Monday to begin the setup process. This starts the full week.
The second event is a month-long Schools of Mission. We have been invited for a three-week tour of Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas, sharing our mission. We will speak about 13 times for most of the month, traveling every day to a new church. It should be a great opportunity. This event involves an orientation meeting in Oklahoma on Thursday. To get there for the meeting, Bruce leaves on Wednesday morning, early for Oklahoma City. So two days of setting up for him, then meetings for a few days, and then off to start the presentations. Due to the event above, Sherry will be joining on the following Tuesday Morning after a red-eye flight to Amarillo, Texas.
And in the middle of it all is a wedding. One of our granddaughters, Jenna, is getting married in Houston. So we have a nine-hour drive to the wedding and a nine-hour drive back to our next presentation location, which is on a Sunday Morning. The timing worked out so that we will only miss one possible presentation. This is our first grandchild wedding and we would not miss it for anything.
